Mumbai is reeling under the aftermath of the recent terror attacks. And it is not a very novel or a new happening. Mumbai and places world over have experienced this in the last decade.
Can barely understand the agony and pain of those who experienced it first-hand.
Something somewhere is going seriously wrong. And it needs to be corrected and real soon. So much hatred, so much recklessness, so much inconsideration!
On a bigger picture, i think, the every day small outbursts of anger, revengeful thinking, hatred and what not is accumulating to manifest such a dreadful representation of evil.
A small example. These days on train travels, i had started becoming increasingly intolerable of people's behaviour and was nursing some kind of anger and hatred. i somehow feel these petty things are responsible, indirectly. This and many more.
i suddenly felt that maybe there is a lot of sweating over the small stuff happening around in my mind.
i have become a tad bit tolerable after this incident and hope it lasts and i and everybody else grow in love. Then maybe, these incidences can be avoided.
To start with, let us not harbour any ill-feelings for the terrorists. Well, it is easier said than done. And it is particularly easy saying that sitting in the comforts of your home, in front of the TV and just discussing things from a viewer's point of view. But this is the permanent solution, methinks.
And for me, it means getting more tolerant towards those ladies in the train compartment, getting more loving towards J, understanding other people's point of views, giving more than expecting.....
Taking steps towards it :)
Hope!

Hi,
I have been a silent reader of your blog since sometime now and I must say that I like reading what you write. I have never commented on your posts but today when you ask every one to not harbour ill-feelings for the terrorists...I just couldn't stop my self.
What are you saying??? Are you trying to be Gandhian? Though you don't need to explain your feelings/thoughts to anyone but I would really love to know how this can be the "permanent solution".
Hey Abhay,
Good to hear your thoughts. What i want to say is - for a permanent solution, looking at the bigger picture, thinking from a long term perspective, this hatred and revengeful feeling has to end somewhere. Otherwise, it kind of creates a chain reaction. Of course, we have to defend ourself and show them that our non-doing is not our weakness but on a parallel ground, we (by we i mean, people like me who are not going to do anything drastic) can start looking for a permanenet solution which should be the right to live peacefully without any fear. But it goes without saying that there has to be some kind of movement in retaliation.
i have read things like the terrorists were highly motivated to create such destruction. So, if hatred could be nurtured so passionately why not love. Also, when we say enough is enough, it also means enough of violence along with the sentiment that enough of letting politicians walk all over us & stuff.
i hope it explains my point of view.

...but how can we live peacefully, without any hatred in times when we are being constantly bombared (literally bombarded)? I sincerely don't know how that is possible for anyone.
I was just 200 meters from the site of Delhi blasts. The things you see during those times don't help you in anyway to not hate those "demons in human skins". Then when I heard of the patients from my fellow medicos who treated them...it makes things worsen in your mind & heart. If someone doesn't hate the terrorists after watching & hearing all those things then that person must be Lord Buddha of current times.
Tell me something Abhay, is it just the terrorists that are demons in human skins? They are just a medium. If you want to uproot terror from the very base, you have to do something that really is sustainable. And where is hatred going to lead you? any solution?
i can hardly comprehend what it must be to come that close to such a ghastly act. i dunno know how i would take it. But to me hatred is a reaction, not a resolution. And now it is time we look for a workable resolution.
Yes, you need to express(in word, deed, thought) your contempt but the important point is, take definitive steps towards correcting the situation and not let mishaps recurr.
And it is not about being Buddha, you have got to do what it takes, to stop this, whatever.
IMHO hatred & anger towards terrorists & terrorist attacks are not just useless emotions or reactions. They can be the driving force behind our efforts towards something concrete against this barbarism.
BTW don't you think we both have agreed to disagree with each other? Now its looking as though I am just spamming your blog :)
Hey!
Yea...Our approaches, quite apparently, differ. But that's ok.
No spamming, its good to know about perspectives.
i'm all for the efforts :)
